Housing Crisis for Coloradans with Disabilities: Know Your Rights and Resources

This presentation will cover an overview of housing issues faced by people with disabilities, as well as their rights in different types of housing, including the right to reasonable accommodations. The presentation will also include information about resources to assist in finding housing, and an overview of recent legislation that has passed that is likely to impact people with disabilities regarding housing.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain knowledge about rights in different types of housing, including Regional Centers, Group Homes, Host Homes, and in apartments in the community.
  • Learn about recent legislation that has passed that may affect rights in housing.
  • Learn about resources available to assist with finding housing.

Intended audience:  Individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, allies, community partners, and all other interested parties
