Autism Quality of Life Podcast
When opportunity knocks, you should probably answer the door. A few months ago Dr. Teri Krakovich, founder of Autism Quality of Life, invited Mallory and me to do a podcast with her. Naturally, my first thought was “Uh, no.” Anxiety alone has prevented me from doing many things, but now Mallory and I are responsible for two books , and getting the books into the right hands. So, after trying to get out of the podcast in a few different ways (thank you, anxiety), we agreed to do the podcast, in part because we owe a debt of gratitude to the folks in the books. (To be fair, Mallory didn’t appear hesitant at all. I was the holdup.)
I’ve never really had a successful podcast before. I wasn’t sure what to expect. Happily, nothing about the podcast went the way we expected. Technology was not our friend, and we needed to reschedule (Yes!) giving me an additional week to perseverate. Mallory and I sorted out a system of taking turns talking, and I sorted out some anxiety management strategies, and a podcast was born. Dr. Krakovich asked us to listen to the podcast before she posted it (which I refused to do, and Mallory said I had to grow up and listen to it, and I did). Ends up Dr. K made us sound pretty darn good! If you have a few minutes to spare and want to listen to the podcast, you can find it here. And please, share Dr. Krakovich’s website with others. She has a great message, lovely guests, and a positive outlook in life. She is one to watch in the world of Autism. (Also, she is tech savvy, so you can find her on LinkedIn, Facebook, and other social media locations.)
