PSD Transition Series
Poudre School District’s Integrated Services will be hosting a Transition Series. The next event is Mon March 9th at 6pm at Boltz Middle School. The Transition Series has invited me to give a 30 minute presentation about transitioning to adulthood, moving from being a high school student to … well, whatever comes next!
The next step from high school to (Adulting? Working? More education?) is highly dependent upon who you are, your family, and your values, so that next step could be Cooper Home, FRCC, a university of your choice, a job, or taking a brief break before enacting a more formal plan. No matter your next step, gathering information about how to make a plan for yourself seems like a good idea.
I’ve been to a similar Transition Series in the past. This is a great opportunity to gather quite a bit of information quickly. You could meet with Cooper Home, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), Opportunities for Post Secondary Success (OPS at CSU – they have a great Empowerment Class!), Foothills Gateway, and the ARC of Larimer County – all in one night!
